the parkmycloud team at aws reinvent 2015The ParkMyCloud team is back at HQ in Northern Virginia after a great AWS re:Invent 2015 conference last week in Las Vegas. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and mentioned our email!

We had a lot of great conversations at the booth, where everyone seemed to immediately “get”  ParkMyCloud and its value  –  the ability to schedule on/off times for EC2 instances to save time and money  –  almost instantly. We heard feedback like:

  • “I’ve been looking for something that does this!”
  • “This is the only product I’ve seen all day that I actually want to use!”
  • “Finally! It’s about damn time!”

One large government agency mentioned they could save $600,000-$700,000 a month using ParkMyCloud. Here’s what “Bob”, the lovably wasteful IT infrastructure manager, had to say about AWS.

On top of validation of the product value, plus praise for the clean and simple user interface, we got confirmation and ideas for the next features in ParkMyCloud. A few that came up multiple times were parking for autoscaling groups, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) support, and integration with Microsoft Azure.

Of course, the fun didn’t stop when the booths closed down for the day. While others used the pub crawl as an opportunity to relax and sip a beer, our tireless CTO Dale whipped out his laptop gave a demo to a group who recognized the team (“Hey! That’s the ParkMyCloud guys!”)

Get a free t-shirt!The t-shirts did seem to be a hit  –  we were asked at least once an hour where to get one. Here’s your shot: purchase ParkMyCloud, then send Katy an email and mention this blog post, and she’ll send you the t-shirt of your choice (blue or white!)

drone winnerBy the way, congrats to the winners of our popular pick-a-key drawing! Thursday morning, Chris Reason from Vormetric won the drone, and about an hour before booth closing, Stephen Repetski from Berico Technologies won the Pebble watch.

watch winnerWe’re already planning for next year. We’d love to get in on the food and drink giveaways. What should we serve at our booth: coffee, popcorn, or beer? Comment with your preference!

And mark your calendar: November 28 – December 2, 2016 at the Venetian Las Vegas. Don’t miss it!
